Ac Tah, a Mayan leader who, in the past few years has come into renown spreading his message in Mexico, speaks that 2012 is not the end of life, it is in reality the beginning. Changes are happening now, and will continue to happen after 2012. Humanity as a whole will rise up in cognizance. He declares the extent of the changes that will occur and how harsh they are hugely depend on the level of human consciousness. He says the best thing we all can do at this point is to come together in unity, regardless of race, religion, creed or belief.

There are other spiritual heads from Mexico, which contains one of the largest Mayan populations, who have a identical message. Popular author of The Four Agreements, don Miguel Ruiz has recently published another book called The Fifth Agreement. Don Miguel states the goal of changing the world is finding equilibrium between philanthropy and gratitude - which is an expression of sincere love. He goes further by saying that the earth is a living being and we humans are a portion of the organism of the earth and as such we transform the world through our energy. The way we have an effect on energy is simply by awareness. So, as we move deeper into love in our energy, thoughts, emotions, words and deeds, we influence our mother, the earth, in a positive way.

The bottom line is that though there may be a great number of changes that take place as we move close to 2012 and after, and these changes can bring up fear of the unknown, we are living in a special time in humanity's history. What on the facade may look like calamity is really the old coming to an end in order to make way for the new. This doesn't mean that there will not be disaster as the changes take place. When a big company collapses many lose their jobs. When there are earthquakes, many may even lose their lives. And, while such things have always occurred in human history, it does not negate the challenges and tragedies that occur. At the same time, however, as stated by the Mayans and other spiritual masters, in the bigger picture what is happening has been destined to happen for a very long time. And most essentially, it is bringing human beings to a much better world to live in.
